You are warmly welcome to join us for the inaugural International OI Conference, hosted by the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation Network (OIFN) held @ Shendish Manor, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP3 0AA, UK, from the 16th to 18th of May 2025.

About The Event

This landmark event unites OI organisations, patients, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders in a collaborative environment.

The conference facilitates dialogue on OI and treatments, fostering a convergence of international OI and African communities, where Innovators, policymakers, and healthcare experts come together to address access and equity for those with OI diseases in the UK and Africa.

Beyond the academic and scientific aspects, patients, carers, and support groups will share their experiences, knowledge, and missions. The conference provides opportunities for networking, inspiration, and education, fostering a spirit of unity and collaboration. The OIFN International Conference, #Together4OI, will also offer a professional, productive, and inclusive atmosphere whereby participants can learn, develop, and have fun exchanging ideas to unite the OI community towards a common goal. Afterwards will follow the CSR Awards, Dinner / Exhibitions evening.

Maryann Ugochi Ibekwe

She a Professor of Paediatrics and paediatric Endocrinologist at the Ebonyi State University Abakaliki/Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki.  She is a fellow of the West African College of Physicians in the faculty of Paediatrice.

She received the fellowship training in Paediatric Endocrinology from the Paediatric Endocrine Training Center Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. This was sponsored by the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE). She also attended the Clinical fellowship in Paediatric Endocrinology with the Birmingham Children’s Hospital NHS Trust UK in 2012.

In 2011, she set up the paediatric endocrine unit in Abakaliki which became the first paediatric endocrine unit in the South Eastern Nigeria   She is currently working as a Paediatirc  consultant at the Dept of Paediatrics Khafji General Hospital, Al Khafji  Eastern region in Saudi Arabia, Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, Nigeria.
