With a strong foundation in applied mathematics and a passion for interdisciplinary research, Ifesinachi recently presented her unique and socially impactful final year project, which focused on mathematical modelling in dermatological care for individuals living with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI)—a rare genetic disorder characterised by fragile bones and often sensitive skin.

Driven by a deep curiosity about the challenges faced by individuals with this rare condition, Ifesinachi developed a strong interest in OI and chose to explore it further through her academic work. Alongside her studies, she has also been gaining practical experience with an emerging skincare organisation, where she has been expanding her knowledge of skin science and product formulation. Her passion for beauty and skincare, combined with her academic training, has allowed her to approach the subject from a truly unique and innovative angle.

By bridging the gap between mathematics and skincare science, she aims to advance personalised healthcare and beauty solutions through data-driven and mathematical insights. Her academic journey has consistently reflected a commitment to excellence, innovation, and socially relevant research, making her a standout voice in the mathematical sciences.

On Saturday, 30th August 2025, at 7:00 PM (London & Nigerian time), Ifesinachi shared her research and experiences in a virtual session that was well attended and enthusiastically received. Participants from diverse backgrounds joined the Zoom meeting to learn more about her work and its implications in both biomedical and cosmetic sciences.

The event saw high levels of engagement, with attendees actively participating during the Q&A session. Many thoughtful and insightful questions were raised, reflecting a strong interest in the intersection of mathematics, dermatology, and personalised care for people living with OI.

The session not only highlighted the depth of Ifesinachi’s research but also sparked essential conversations around inclusive innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the future of personalised skincare solutions.
